In recent years, RAV4 popularity has really taken off, allowing Toyota to put more time and effort into making it the best compact crossover it can be. For 2019, we'd expect nothing less than a rugged, capable crossover that manages to be comfortable, high-tech, and striking at the same time. The complete redesign of the 2019 Toyota RAV4 leaves us feeling in awe of the possibilities that lie ahead. Keep reading to see what we're talking about!
The 2019 Toyota RAV4 features an all-new design, an upgraded driving experience, standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, standard Entune™ 3.0, and so much more. Feel free to take in the details laid out here before getting behind the wheel in Nashville, TN beginning in late 2018.
Under the hood, the 2019 RAV4 is equipped with a standard 2.5-liter inline-4 engine and 8-speed Direct-Shift Automatic Transmission. Drivers can opt for the Toyota Hybrid System on RAV4 Hybrid models for improved fuel economy, especially in stop-and-go traffic. Available all-wheel drive adds extra confidence when driving in inclement weather conditions.
Although the design has been completely revamped, the RAV4 is relatively similar in size to its predecessor. The biggest change is an extra 1.2 inches for the wheelbase, which translates to a bit extra passenger space—namely more leg room for back-seat riders. And, as always, you can expect a comfortable and inviting cabin with everything you need for an enjoyable ride.
Toyota Safety Sense 2.0
Taking your safety to the next level is the next-generation Toyota Safety Sense system, which includes updated features as well as a few all-new elements. New for TSS 2.0 are Lane Tracing Assist, which identifies and tracks certain lane markings, and Road Sign Assist, which has the capability to detect certain road signs and display a warning inside the RAV4.
Design and Technology of the 2019 Toyota RAV4
Refined and adventurous, the design of the new RAV4 brings a fresh look to Toyota's popular compact crossover. The new TNGA platform makes for a tougher, bolder SUV style for the 2019 RAV4. The exterior features chiseled lines, side mirrors positioned lower on the doors, higher ground clearance, and available two-tone paint schemes.
As mentioned above, the cabin of the 2019 Toyota RAV4 is expected to have some additional passenger space. We can also look forward to plenty of technology updates, including the following:
Entune 3.0 with Wi-Fi Connect
Hands-free Amazon Alexa
Apple CarPlay compatibility
Newly designed 7-inch Multi-Information Display
Digital Display Review Mirror (first Toyota vehicle in North America)
11-speaker JBL audio system
